One of the most recognized names in the world, cofounder of cubism, painter, sculptor, graphic artist, ceramist and poet. On 12 February 2019, Picasso’s works from the National Museum in Warsaw were shown to a wider audience. The exhibition presented 30 works from the museum’s collections. Among them were plates with images of faces, created in the early period of the artist’s fascination with ceramics, and graphics, mostly lithographs, including 14 works from his longest cycle, entitled Woman in an Armchair. The show was arranged in two museum halls, with the walls decorated in murals by the young artist Ireneusz Rolewski, among them a treatment of the Battle of Grunwald inspired by Picasso’s idiom.
